I am a photojournalist who has spent the past three decades documenting the changes and struggles in my native West Virginia and how it has affected the people and landscape of its uniquely Appalachian culture.

Studied at Rochester Institute of Technology and Ohio University and have been a staff photographer for the Charleston Gazette, St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Beaufort Gazette. My work has been featured in the New York Times, Atlantic Monthly, Mother Jones, Harper's Magazine, Spin, The Sun and Antietam Review. Winner of the 2017 Award of Excellence in the West Virginia Juried Exhibition and featured in numerous Tamarack exhibitions.
